Today, we honored School Lunch Hero Day by presenting the AMAZING women in our cafeteria with our Spirit Stick. Their certificates read: "We want to to share our spirit stick with the incredible women who keep our cafeteria running with such care and heart. Your smiles brighten our students’ days, your kindness makes everyone feel welcome, and your hard work never goes unnoticed. Thank you for greeting each child with warmth, for being so helpful and friendly, and for the important role you play in keeping our students healthy and ready to learn. You do so much more than serve meals... you create a positive, caring space where our kids feel valued every single day. We appreciate you more than words can say. Thank you for all that you do!" We are grateful for you today and always!

This past week, Mrs. Full, Mrs. Thorpe, and Mrs. Krager visited classrooms to lead lessons on neurodiversity and how it makes our world unique and special!
Students enjoyed a shared reading, learned about the anatomy of the brain, and explored important vocabulary to help them better understand and talk about neurodiversity. They also had the opportunity to decorate their own “brain,” reflect on what makes them unique, and discuss the ways they learn best.
We are proud of our students for embracing what makes each of us different and celebrating the strengths that make our school community so special!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day! Today highlights our group at Dixon Public Schools who fervently keep our buildings functioning every single day. They answer questions, keep things organized, and help students and staff. They are a key point of contact for our parents too. Their hard work keeps everything running smoothly, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you for being such an important part of DPS#170! #BePurple

Due to the power line remaining down, parents picking up students at Madison/RMS should use Chicago Ave. to Fargo Ave. when picking up at 11:15 am today. Walkers will be routed to Hemlock for both north and south access. South walkers will utilize the overpass heading toward WalMart. North walkers will be directed toward Hometown Pantry where crossing guards will assist them north on Galena or west toward 7th Street. Buses will be adjusting their routes accordingly. Expect bussing delays and allow for increased traffic today. Please be safe out there.
