"Mrs. Ortgiesen is quick to encourage her students, while also holding them to high expectations... and she helps them rise to those expectations every day."
"Mrs. Kingham is always willing to share her time, talents, and energy to help kids become the very best versions of themselves."

A HUGE Spirit Stick Shout-Out to Mrs. Bond & Mrs. Wagner!
We are so excited to celebrate this week’s Spirit Stick recipients!
Mrs. Bond — You have gone above and beyond this year, preparing two libraries to be ready for action and creating welcoming, engaging spaces for our students to learn, explore, and grow.
Mrs. Wagner — You have stepped up and truly done the work of two people, always with grace, patience, and a positive attitude.
Thank you both for all you do to make our school a better place!

There’s something so special about seeing our hallways fill up with student artwork! Each colorful creation is a little glimpse into our students’ creativity, imagination, and hard work.
Walking through the school and seeing their artwork proudly displayed is a wonderful reminder that learning happens in so many beautiful ways. We love celebrating our students and giving their creativity a place to shine!

Mrs. Conderman's 2nd graders have been busy!!
From reading about the larger-than-life adventures of Pecos Bill and Paul Bunyan to exploring the fun, exaggerated world of tall tales, our students have been reading, listening, discussing, writing, and learning all about these legendary American stories. They celebrated their work with pancakes and a short video today.
We are so proud of all the reading, learning, and growing these kiddos have done!

Our 2nd and 3rd graders started their day practicing an important bus safety including how to safely exit the bus through the back emergency exit. These hands-on drills help students feel prepared and know what to do in an emergency.
Great job, Jefferson students, for taking safety seriously and practicing these important skills, and thank you to our bus drivers for all their help!

Attention DPS Families! Please see the attached invitation for our Jump Into Jefferson Night, where you can learn more about all things Jefferson!
Our partnership with families is so important, and we want to make sure we stay informed, connected, and working together to support our students. We hope to see you there!

Our first full week is officially in the books, and we are off to a GREAT start!
This week was all about building strong routines and procedures from the very beginning... especially the ones that help our classroom families feel connected, confident, and ready to learn. From our Wish Well routines to learning and practicing our classroom jobs, our students jumped right in and embraced it all!
We’re so proud of the way our classroom community is already coming together. What a wonderful first week!
Here’s to many more great weeks ahead!
